Day 1: Arrival Entebbe Airport – Kampala
Upon arrival at the airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide who will then take you to Serena Kampala Hotel (High end) or Cassia Lodge (Mid range) or Forest Cottages Kampala (Budget end) for an overnight and dinner. Meal plan Dinner
Day 2: Kampala-Murchison Falls
You will be picked up from your hotel or place of residence in Kampala. Begin the panoramic drive north-west through the famous Luwero Triangle and, travel to Masindi via Ziwa Rhino project. A visit to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino trekking is a must. After lunch, a stopover at the Boomu women community project is encouraged Thereafter drive to Murchison at the spectacularly situated site at the top of the fall where you can see the Nile’s beauty perfected!! Marvel at the Nile, compressing from up to 1 km squeeze through a 7 meter canyon dropping 45 meters with a thunderous roar creating a beautiful rainbow, a plume of spray and the best thing that happened to the Nile…”the Murchison Falls “. Day 3: Murchison Falls
Begin the day with a cup of African Coffee ready for an early morning game drive. Your guide will help you spot Elephant, Lion, Cape buffalo, Rothschild’s giraffe, hartebeest, Waterbuck, Oribi, Bushbuck, Bohor reedbuck, hyena and if you are lucky, the leopard. Return to the hotel for breakfast and lunch. In the afternoon you make a boat trip towards the Murchison Falls. Carefully watched by crocodiles, hundreds of hippos, buffaloes, water birds, apes and all the other thirsty wildlife that the Nile attracts you go to the bottom of the 43 meters high and famous Murchison Falls, which approaches you with a thunderous sound. a narrow cleft in the Rift Valley escarpment to plunge into a frothing pool 43m
below. This is also a zone of many bird species like Goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorant and the rare shoebill stork. Day 4: Murchison Falls-Kibale Forest National Park
All day drive south via Hoima to Fort Portal through verdant countryside and past traditional homesteads and farms along Albertine Rift escarpments. Fort-Portal rests in the shadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon. Meals and over night at Kyaninga Lodge (Lodge facility) or Primate Lodge-Forest Cottages (Mid Lodge) or Chimps Nest (Budget facility). A stunning location overlooking a dramatic Crater Lake and the fabled “Mountains of the Moon”. . Meal plan: (B, L, D)
Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking Kibale Forest National Park-Bwindi
Half day search of chimpanzee and 10 other primate including phoestes, red Colobus, blues, and red tailed and grey cheeked mangabey. The guide will provide detailed explanations, not only on primates, but also on all the forest fauna and flora and will ensure that your walk is both informative and enjoyable. This walk is excellent for viewing bird life and seeing primates at close quarters. After lunch, proceed to Bwindi via Queen Elizabeth National Park and here you may spot many wildlife including Elephants, Buffaloes, among others. This is the lushest highland rain forest on earth, filled with primates and exotic birds, valleys, hilltops and papyrus swamps. Dinner and overnight stay at either Buhoma Lodge/Mahogany Springs/Gorilla Safari Lodge (high end lodge) or Sliver back Lodge/Chameleon Hill Lodge (Mid range) or Buhoma community Bandas/Wagtail Eco Camp (Budget facility) Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Day 6: Gorilla Trekking Bwindi
Begin the day with breakfast ready for trekking, which begins at 8:00 am with a briefing from the UWA staff. Ensure to carry along with you rain jacket, drinking water, snacks, jungle boots etc The guides will lead you inside the jungle to see the shy Primates for a group you have been booked for. Do not forget to take your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. The tracking may take between 2 and 6 hours but it’s well worth the effort. The afternoon is spent on a foot safari around the local communities living around the park. Day 7: Bwindi-Kampala/Entebbe
Return to Kampala, then Entebbe, with lunch enroute and stop over at Igongo cultural centre and the Equator Uganda. Return to Kampala where you will be dropped off to a place of residence or your hotel home. End of services. Meal Plan Breakfast and Lunch.
